Bringing back our Flowstone Climbing Bouldering League! The league is all about gathering the community together for a healthy dose of friendly competition.
Climbers aged 14 and above. ALL LEVELS WELCOME to join the excitement. Not into competing, you say? Well, we see things a bit differently. The league’s scoring system is based on a relative scoring system. This means that sending a V2 can be just as rewarding as sending a V9. Keep in mind, we have a minimum level of setting to maintain a fair field of play for the best experience of all levels. |
Every Tuesday, 5:30pm - 9:30pm, located at the Comp Wall COMPETITORS, ARRIVE EARLY TO WARM UP.
Bouldering League Winners will be announced after the final session on September 24 All participants receive a Flowstone Bouldering League t-shirt or tank top, four league night participation, and immortalized bragging rights banner.

Wondering about the scoring process?
Each week, you’ll be given 10 new boulders. You'll record your attempts and sends (the five boulders within your declared V-grade range). Your points from each round will contribute to your team’s overall score:
This scoring method ensures that the team's performance isn't affected if one teammate is unable to attend a bouldering league session AND encourages you to step out of your comfort zone to try ALL the boulders in your range. Rest assured, we'll include everyone's scores to track your progress. You'll be given a paper score sheet to track your attempts and sends. Bring your best performance because FLASHING climbs can give your scores a real boost as each attempt will bring the value of that boulder down in points.
- The accumulation of points for the 5 boulders will determine the top 3 scorers on your team
- The top 3 scorers on your team will be calculated for the league week total
- The 4 scores from each league week will be calculated for the final overall team score

How does the scoring work?
When you register online, you’ll declare your CURRENT V-GRADE - the highest grade you can regularly complete in a single climbing session. Your point accumulation will then revolve around this baseline. Try your best to determine what grade you consistently climb in a single session. The 10 boulders we set each week will be a V-Grade to assist with the scoring system.
Let’s break it down with an example: You sign up as a V3 climber and climb a V3, you receive 100 points. If you climb a V4, you receive 110 points. If you climb a V2, you score 80. Keep in mind, each fall after the flash go will result in a 3pt deduction.
Declared max grade boulder = 100 pts.
A grade above = 110 pts.
A grade below = 80 pts.
Two grades below max = 60 pts.
3 grades below max = 40 pts.
Minus 3 pts. for every fall
Up to 7 attempts
After 7th attempt = minus 21 pts.
Thanks to this Relative Scoring System, any climber who can attempt a boulder of the same grade as their V-Grade will receive 100 points. This setup ensures that climbers of all skill levels can contribute equally to their team’s points, making sure everyone has an even playing field and receive recognition for their effort. After the 1st week, if you feel you made an error with your current declared V-Grade, email [email protected], and we'll update you accordingly. If you climb two grades above your declared V-grade, we'll automatically bump you.
